Enslaved” (2022) is a sculptural work composed of hair, wood, and fourteen feet of chain. The piece responds to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, translating the collective shock and uncertainty of that moment into physical form. The chains function as both literal and symbolic restraint, reflecting the feeling of being bound to state control. Through its materials and scale, the work acknowledges the vulnerability of women’s bodily autonomy and the enduring weight of imposed regulation.
